Nocturnist Advanced Practice Practitioner at Caldwell County, NC
UNC Health Caldwell is seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Inpatient Hospitalist department as a Nocturnist. This position provides an excellent opportunity to practice at the top of your license and welcomes enthusiastic and experienced providers comfortable in the inpatient setting. The position also offers extremely competitive, recently adjusted guaranteed compensation plus excellent quality bonuses and benefits.
UNC Health Caldwell is the primary choice for healthcare in Caldwell County. The Emergency Department sees approximately 30,000 visits a year. UNC Health Medical Group provides the majority of primary care and select specialty care to our market from thirteen separate medical park locations throughout the county. Our 137-bed licensed acute care hospital is a member of the UNC Health System.
At UNC Health Caldwell you will work with a great team of virtual MDs. You will be led by two knowledgeable and caring hospital leaders with years of in-person and virtual hospitalist and medical leadership experience. You will also work very closely with the daytime hospitalist team. Our documentation templates and AI documentation assistance tools are designed to help transitions of care and decrease the time-consuming task of documentation.
At UNC Health Caldwell we believe in providing the right care at the right time in the right place, and as a nocturnal APP, you will be instrumental in achieving that goal.
We are searching for an APP capable of caring for patients independently (with virtual MD support and backup), and comfortable central line placements and intubations. We are seeking enthusiastic experienced providers who are comfortable managing inpatient hospital patients independently.

Responsibilities:
Manage inpatients closely with our virtual hospitalist team and the virtual intensivist team
Respond to acute medical events such as rapid responses and codes
Perform admissions and consults
Compensation:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7 on 7 off rotation, 7p-7a along with a Virtual Nocturnist MD

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited PA Program or NP Program
North Carolina licensed and BLS/ACLS certified
2+ years of experience preferred
Location in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northwestern North Carolina
Proximity to higher education opportunities: Appalachian State University in Boone, NC; Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC; Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute in Hudson, NC. One hour-and-ten-minutes travel time each to: Charlotte Douglas International Airport; the eclectic attractions of Asheville; the arts and history of Winston-Salem; and only 20 minutes to the North Carolina High Country and the mountain resort community of Blowing Rock.

Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina.
Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting.
Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
